A pleasant facility for those waiting for a flight, Raleigh Durham International Airport (RDU) has made much effort to make its two main terminal buildings (Terminal A and Terminal C) passenger friendly.
There are all of the usual facilities, services and amenities, including shops, restaurants, cafes, baggage carts, Wi-Fi access, charging stations, airline clubs and more. RDU features many temporary and permanent pieces of art, themed to reflect the stretches of the Research Triangle. Installed in Terminal 2 are pieces entitled Cloudscape, Gate of Air, Gate of Earth, Triplet, Wingspun and Signature Art, where over 5,000 different local signatures have been digitally etched into special glass.

Raleigh Airport information desks are situated in the baggage reclaim areas of the terminal buildings. These desks are open daily, from 07:00 to 23:00 and provide the latest arrivals and departures flight times, including reasons for any delays.
Shops, Duty-Free and Retail Outlets
The majority of shops within RDU are based in Terminal 2, where there are approximately 20 different outlets to choose between. These include Best Buy Express, Brighton Collectibles, CNBC News, EJE Travel Retail (Duty-Free), Hudson Booksellers, Hudson News, XpresSpa and a PGA Tour Shop. In Terminal 1, there are just a handful of stores, such as Best Buy Express, Brighton Collectibles and CNBC News.
Bars, Cafés and Restaurants
Those in Raleigh Durham International Airport with time for a meal will find some 25 different eateries, cafes and fast-food Katelios. For a light snack and a cappuccino, there are a couple of Starbucks coffee shops on hand, while elsewhere, onsite dining establishments include AJ's Tavern, 42nd Street Oyster Bar, Bruegger's Bagel, the Carolina Ale House, the California Pizza Kitchen, Green Leaf's, Jason's Deli, KFC Express and Red Star Lounge. Breakfast is available at some eateries from 04:30 onwards.

If you have some of your local currency and wish to exchange it into dollars then pay a visit to the Travelex Worldwide Money outlets within Terminal 2 (baggage reclaim and ticketing areas). There are also numerous cashpoints, public telephones and business centers within Terminal A, close to gate C16 in the main concourse area in Terminal C.
Disabled Facilities
All of the expected disabled facilities are onsite, including easy access ramps, elevators, wheelchairs and phones designed for those with hearing impairments (TTY). There are also adapted public restrooms, service animal relief areas and courtesy shuttles where necessary.
Other Facilities
Other facilities at RDU include baby changing facilities in both of the terminal buildings and a meditation room in Terminal A, next to the baggage reclaim area. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all of the public areas, including shops and eateries. You are not allowed to smoke outside of terminal doors and close to buildings, although there are some designated open-air smoking zones.
